Your Third Game: And your first personal game!!!! YAYYYYY!!!!!!You're going to use the skills you learned in the first two tutorials to build a game of your own design. Here is the document with detailed instructions... grade proposal due W 9-18, final game due W 9-25.
Your Second Game - "1945"Download this folder to your GameMaker folder. Follow the directions, and please, Please, PLEASE actually read and understand it. Don't blindly copy and paste like a monkey.
I'd like to check these on Monday, September 16th, 2013. For an 80: Complete the tutorial up to "More Enemies" on page 17. I'll be checking to see if your health bars, lives, sound, and animations are correct. For a 90: Complete up to "Finishing the Game" on page 19. I'll be looking to see four different enemy types - the green one we started with, an enemy that shoots straight down, an enemy that shoots at you, and an enemy that flies form the bottom to the top. For a 100: Finish the tutorial... and add something awesome of your own design. "Awesome" is up to my discretion.... Your First Game - "Catch the Clown"Download this folder to your GameMaker folder. Follow the directions in the tutorial (oh yeah, you really ought to READ the tutorial... don't just skim for directions).
For an 70: Complete all the demonstrated steps. For a 80: Have two clowns moving around simultaneously. They should each earn points if you catch them, but make one score more points (and it should be easy to see which is which, and they should not ghost through each other....) For a 90: Have a third clown that you shouldn't catch because it will cost you 10 points. Make it obvious that this clown is "bad"... For a 100: Do everything required for a 90, but use new sprites, sounds, and background. Due by end of class Monday, 9-9-2013. |
